EU Marie Curie principal investigator, Dr. Lidia K.C. Manzo provides us with an introduction of #cityofcare international/comparative research project. Current pressures on either the redevelopment or the privatization of social housing complexes are exacerbating processes of displacement and contributing to erosion of the community fabric and weakening of social bonds which constitute the very system of support and solidarity for disadvantaged households, particularly for the most vulnerable: lone mothers, single women pensioners, and single women without children.
Dr. Lidia K.C. Manzo talks on camera for her #cityofcare project about the two European cities selecte to analyze the crucial socio-economic and spatial implications of the financialization of social housing (FSH): Dublin and Milan.
Housing is the intersection of community, locality, and domesticity, and it best exemplifies women’s interests in linking place and politics. EU Marie Curie principal investigator, Dr. Lidia K.C. Manzo on camera for #cityofcare at the Oliver Bond House in Dublin.
"The potential relevance of this study should be taken into account to better inform precise guidance for community development projects and local governments".
